2025 Ha'ena to Hanalei 8 Mile Run & 5k Walk by Hanalei Canoe Club

Team Punzal Vision participated in the 43rd Annual Ha'ena to Hanalei 8 Mile Run & 5K Walk by Hanalei Canoe Club! We all arrived early in the morning, while it was still dark outside, just before the first sunlight. Our whole team from Dr. Punzal, Brity, Lehua, Keahi, Jaymee, Lilly, Daisy, and Kennedy were able to participate in the race! Stephanie was an our trusty cheerleader for this event, and managed to sneak her way across the finish line in support of our team! Our newest team member Skylar, ran the 8 Mile race, as well!

Team Punzal Vision's Oahu Adventure!

This past week (May 7-9), our team took a trip to the beautiful Four Seasons Ko Olina Resort on O'ahu for VSP's annual Mahalo Event & Seminar! This wasn't just any company retreat – we combined professional development with team bonding in the perfect paradise setting! With all of the resort amenities and beautiful ocean views as a backdrop, our team was focused on growth.

Sage's Big Move!

We have been blessed to have been graced with Sage's presence these past 3 years as an employee of Punzal Vision. Although her journey with Punzal Vision had begun as a patient, we were honored to take her on the team! As many of you may know, Sage recently got married! Dr. Punzal gets Pterygium Surgery!

Dr. Punzal recently flew to O'ahu to get pterygium surgery from Dr. Faulkner at Aloha Laser Vision! Pterygium surgery is a common procedure, yet it's one that many patients may not know about. So we've put together a bit of information about this surgery for you, along with sharing Dr. Punzal's journey both leading up to and through his own surgery.

2024 Ha'ena to Hanalei Run

Team Punzal Vision participated in the Annual Ha'ena to Hanalei run this past weekend!We all woke up early to get to the start line for the beautiful 8 Mile Run & Walk from Ha'ena to Hanalei. Our team consisted of Runners: Dr. Punzal, Keahi, Brity & our newest team member Jaymee along with our Walking crew of Sage, Steph, Jessica, Daisy, & Kylah! Kalena volunteered this year as our athletic supporter for Team Punzal Vision.

Upcoming Office Renovations!

We are so excited to announce that we are going to be under construction with new renovations to expand Punzal Vision's Hokulei Village location, next week! This is a huge milestone for us and marks a significant step forward in the growth of Punzal Vision and our ability to serve our community! Our upcoming renovations and expansion have been carefully planned over these past months and we are finally ready to get started!

An interview with our latest Punzal Vision team member, Daisy Coloma! Daisy was born and raised on the Westside of Kaua'i, attending Waimea High School and University of Hawaii at Manoa. She graduated from Kaua'i High School before going on to Front Range Community College and Colorado State University. Maui Wildfire Relief Efforts

Our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone who has been affected by the recent wildfires in Maui. Many have lost their homes, livelihood, family, friends, and community to this disaster. I graduated from Kapaa High School in 2017 and also graduated from KCC with a Liberal Arts degree. What made you interested in the medical field? It was the good feeling of helping people. So, why not help people with their health?

Dr. Punzal & Brity attend American Optometric Association Conference

This month, Dr. Punzal and Brity attended the American Optometric Association’s annual conference, known as Optometry’s Meeting. This year’s conference was held in Chicago.

Dr. Punzal gets PRK Eye Surgery!

About 20 years have gone by since Dr. Punzal had LASIK surgery. He has enjoyed freedom from glasses and contact lenses for a good amount of time, but he realized that his vision was not as sharp as it had once been.

2021 Hawaiian Trail Run

Team Punzal Vision completed our 4th annual Ultimate Hawaiian Trail Run! With last year’s run being canceled due to COVID, we were extra excited for this year! We had no idea what to expect but of course, we took all the necessary precautions to ensure a safe and fun experience for everyone.

Since the COVID-19 vaccination has been available on the island of Kaua'i, we have proudly received both doses and are vaccinated! With the type of work and care we provide to our patients on a daily basis, right away we understood the importance of receiving this vaccine- not only for ourselves, but for our family members and island community.
