Interview: Dayna Ragasa

Can you tell us about your background? What high school/colleges did you attend?

I graduated from Kauai High School in 2014. I went to college at University of Nevada Las Vegas for one year, then transferred to Western Oregon University and graduated in 2019. I received my bachelor’s degree in history with a minor in political science.

Are you more of a cat or a dog person? Why?

Definitely a dog person! Sadly my dog passed away last year. If I was currently living in a place that allowed pets, I would run to the Humane Society right now and adopt a little fur baby.

What's your favorite restaurant on Kaua'i?

There are so many, but currently I would say Stevenson’s Library.

If you could live in a foreign country for one year, where would it be and why?

Probably Switzerland. It’s in the middle of Europe so I could easily travel to any of the other countries. And it’s so beautiful.

Name one hidden talent that you have.

If you name a random NFL team’s location, I can quickly give you the name of the team associated with that location. I haven’t even been to an NFL game before but it’s on my bucket list!

What's more fun to you, eating or sleeping?

I love both, but probably sleeping. I love sleep.

On a Saturday night, would one most likely find you at Troy's, Rob's or on your couch watching Netflix?

I do love a night out, but most nights you will find me at home watching a good movie or show.

Are you a better singer or dancer?

Probably a better dancer. I kind of suck at both LOL. But I always say that if I was actually good at singing, I would never stop.

Why do you like working at Punzal Vision?

I love how close we are as a team, and I love being able to help others. I’m also enjoying learning so much about eyes and eye health! Since I’ve worn glasses and contacts since a very young age, it’s interesting to learn more about it.

What is your favorite Disney movie?

It’s so hard to pick! But I’m gonna go with Mulan.
