Dr. Joel E. Punzal provides quality eye care for the residents and visitors of Kaua’i. He is able to help all age groups from infant to geriatric patients. Dr. Punzal diagnoses and treats eye diseases such as glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, vitreous floaters,and red eyes. Dr. Punzal is proficient in the removal of ocular foreign bodies and the treatment of dry eye syndrome.

Dr. Punzal also provides co-management of refractive surgery (LASIK/PRK) with Aloha Laser Vision on Oahu.
A native of Kansas, Brity moved to Kaua’i in 2009, where she met Dr. Joel E. Punzal. It was love at first sight. They were soon married and now have three beautiful daughters. Brity is a graduate in Finance from Kansas State University. She also has a Master’s in Business Administration from Strayer University. Brity has spent the past 16 years working in the accounting and finance field, in both the government and healthcare sectors. Five of those years were spent working abroad in Kuwait and Qatar. Brity is an advocate for physical activity and early childhood reading. She enjoys playing with her children, traveling, and getting caught in the rain.
Born and raised on Kaua’i, Pua Cobb-Adams graduated from Pacific University in Oregon with a degree in Biology with an emphasis in Molecular and Cellular Biology and a minor in Spanish. She is also an honors graduate of The Kamehameha Schools. Pua is certified by the American Optometric Association as a Certified Paraoptometric Assistant. Pua, who has been in the eye care field since 2006, has also been certified by the National Contact Lens Examiners association and by the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology as a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant. Pua resides in Ho'oluana in Hanamaulu with her husband Erin and their five children Dylan, Kalaunuiohua, Kahanohāweo, Wainohia, and Ka’ōnohihiwahiwa. She is very involved with her childrens’ school and sports activities, and her ‘ohana’s interests include going to the beach, traveling, and Hawaiian language and culture.
After graduating from Kaua'i High School in 2013, Tianne always knew she wanted a career in the medical field. She received her Certification as Medical Assistant and joined the Punzal Vision Team in March 2017 where she shortly after became a Certified Paraoptometric. She enjoys going to the gym, being outdoors with her dog Isabella and boyfriend Justyn, and spends every Sunday at church with her New Hope Kaua'i O'hana.
Karl-Anthony, also known as La’akea, joined the Punzal Vision team in early 2017. An experienced optician, Karl-Anthony is certified by the American Board of Opticianry and the National Contact Lens Examiners. Karl-Anthony, a Licensed Optician, has been working in the eye care field since 2009. His style and knowledge compliments his friendly personality, and he is a great asset to Punzal Vision. Karl-Anthony was born and raised here on Kaua’i and graduated from Kapa’a High School.
A dedicated mother to three sons, Ryder, Bryden and Rydge, Lehua is a graduate of Pacific University (Major in Psychology) and the Kamehameha Schools. She has also worked as a preschool teacher while living in Oregon. Lehua is passionate about physical fitness, and she also enjoys spending quality time with her boyfriend Bryson and their boys. Always friendly and eager to assist, Lehua brings enthusiasm and camaraderie to the Punzal Vision team.
Casey, who joined the Punzal Vision team in 2016, has been a patient of Dr. Punzal’s for many years. She graduated from the University of Hawai’i at Manoa with a degree in Secondary Education (Mathematics). Casey also works as a substitute teacher in the public schools here on Kaua’i and loves spending time outdoors with her husband Ao Kai Ai and dog Aiko.
Kahelena Degracia graduated from Kaua'i High School in 2017. She shortly after joined the Medical Assisting Program at Kaua'i Community College. Kahe has a natural love and passion of caring for others as she is the oldest of 6 siblings. She makes a perfect addition to our team with her fun and playful personality. She enjoys singing and spending her free time with her boyfriend Dreyden and taking care of their three puppies rescued from the Humane Society.
Brittney Marcos joined our team in October of 2019. Not only is she a long time patient, but she's also Casey's sister-in-law. She is a wife, mother of three, and has a passion for bodybuilding and physique. Brittney won 1st place in The Shawn Ray Bikini Competition in November of 2019 and 5th place in the NPC Worldwide Amateur Olympia in Orlando Florida in 2020. She graduated from Kaua'i High School in 2008 and always wanted to be in the customer service industry as she has a natural connection and want to help others. As soon as you walk into Punzal Vision, you'll be greeted with her bubbly and fun personality which radiates through our office.
Kjandra-Sanoe Ibia (pronounced kan•dra) was born on Oahu and raised on Kaua’i. She is the youngest out of three siblings. Kjandra graduated from Kaua’i High school in 2015 and recently just graduated with her AA in Liberal arts with a Medical Assistant Certificate from Kaua’i Community College. She enjoys going on hikes and going to the beach with friends and family. She is also a self proclaimed foodie and will eat and try anything that looks appealing to her!
