Our team at Punzal Vision is our 'ohana. We work, play, and share our lives with each other. We are dedicated to providing professional, medically driven care to our patients and customers, enabling everyone to have their best vision.

Dr. Joel E. Punzal

Dr. Joel E. Punzal provides quality eye care for the residents and visitors of Kaua’i. He is able to help all age groups from infant to geriatric patients. Dr. Punzal diagnoses and treats eye diseases such as glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, vitreous floaters,and red eyes. Dr. Punzal is proficient in the removal of ocular foreign bodies and the treatment of dry eye syndrome.

Brity Punzal MBA, CPO

CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

A native of Kansas, Brity moved to Kaua’i in 2009, where she met Dr. Joel E. Punzal. It was love at first sight. They were soon married and now have three beautiful daughters. Brity is a graduate in Finance from Kansas State University. She also has a Master’s in Business Administration from Strayer University. Brity has spent the past 16 years working in the accounting and finance field, in both the government and healthcare sectors. Five of those years were spent working abroad in Kuwait and Qatar. Brity is an advocate for physical activity and early childhood reading. She enjoys playing with her children, traveling, and getting caught in the rain.

A dedicated mother to three sons, Ryder, Bryden and Rydge, Lehua is a graduate of Pacific University (Major in Psychology) and the Kamehameha Schools. She has also worked as a preschool teacher while living in Oregon. Lehua is passionate about physical fitness, and she also enjoys spending quality time with her boyfriend Bryson and their boys. Always friendly and eager to assist, Lehua brings enthusiasm and camaraderie to the Punzal Vision team.

Keahi is a 2019 graduate of Waimea High School. Hailing from the beautiful west side of Kauai (Kekaha to be exact), you will be greeted by Keahi as soon as you walk through our doors as he is our newest optician! He enjoys outdoor activities - especially volleyball - and is always on the go and staying active. This friendly fellow is ready to help you pick out your next pair of glasses!

Sage graduated from Kapa'a High School in 2016. She attentended West Kauai CNA Program to obtain her CNA License. She also attended Kaua’i Community College to receive her Associates in Liberal Arts and became a Licensed Practical Nurse in 2021. In her free time she enjoys spending time at the park with friends, playing basketball, and baking!

She enjoys spending time with friends and family, cooking, and listening to a good true crime podcast! Kalena loves to help people in the community, and this is ultimately what inspired her to pursue a path in healthcare.
