Signs You Need a New Glasses Prescription

Update glasses prescription

Do you think it might be time to get your prescription checked?

Here are a few signs that your eyes may need a bit of extra support, to help you navigate your daily life:

Frequent headaches

Do you find yourself having frequent headaches? When your eyes strain to compensate for blurry vision, you may experience tension headaches, especially behind the eyes or across the forehead!

Blurry or double vision

If things that were once sharp now look soft or slightly doubled, your current lenses may no longer be doing the job and it could be time to get your prescription updated.

Squinting constantly

If you find yourself squinting to temporarily sharpen your focus in order to read text or see objects in focus, this is a clear sign that it’s time to update your prescription lenses.

Difficulty seeing at night

This is a common occurrence for people with low or impaired vision. You may see halos around lights, difficulty reading street signs after dark, or experience eye strain while driving at night. If you have any of these symptoms, its time to get your eyes checked!

Holding things closer (or farther away)

This is probably one of the most common signs that your eyes are not being fully supported by your current prescription glasses. Whether you're pushing your phone away to read a text or holding a book inches from your face, your arms shouldn't have to do the job of your glasses!

Eye fatigue after screen time

A certain amount of digital eye strain is normal, however if your eyes feel exhausted after just an hour on a screen, it's worth getting checked to see if you have the proper prescription eyewear to support reading on your screens or digital devices.

It’s important to remember that prescriptions change!

At Punzal Vision, we recommend that you come in for a comprehensive eye exam at least once per year! However, if you are experiencing any of these symptoms it may be time to see us a bit sooner!
