Prescription Lens Coatings

Eye test with light

When getting a pair of prescription glasses, there are a few things to do to ensure that it fits you and your lifestyle perfectly. It is important to choose the right frame that looks great and is also comfortable, and to select which type of lens will work best for you such as glasses for driving and watching TV, glasses for computer work and reading, or all of the above. One very important decision to make when it comes to lens selection is the coating.

Prescription frames

At Punzal Vision, we highly recommend an anti-reflective or “no glare” coating to help reduce glare and eyestrain. These coatings also make lenses easier to clean, are more resistant to scratches and smudges, and provide UV protection. Did you know that there are different types of coatings?

Let’s talk about two of our most recommended Essilor coatings.

If your occupation or hobbies require a lot of “screen time” on your computer, cell phone, or iPad/tablet, Crizal Prevencia would be most beneficial for you. Sunlight, indoor lighting, as well as most digital screens have harmful blue-violet lights. Although some blue-violet lights can be beneficial for things like regulating your sleep schedule, Crizal Prevencia assists to protect and block those harmful blue-violet lights from causing long-term damage to your eyes.

Lens Coating

For those who do not have as much screen time, it’s still important to reduce everyday glare from your eyes. The transparency of Crizal Sapphire 360 makes it easier to stay focused and not so distracted by blocking reflections from all directions. If the oncoming car and street lights affect you while driving at night, Crizal Sapphire 360 makes driving at night safer. Aside from the protective benefits, Crizal Sapphire 360 is aesthetically beneficial as it makes your lenses look crystal clear.

No matter what your occupation or everyday activities consists of, we will provide solutions for you, your glasses, and eye care needs.

We hope to SEE you soon!
