March is Save Your Vision Month

March is Save Your Vision month!

The American Optometric Association has declared March as Save Your Vision Month

This month serves to remind us that our eyes deserve the same care we give the rest of our health!

Our vision is one of the most important aspects to navigating our daily lives, and it is important to remember to take proper precautionary measure to make sure that we keep our eyes healthy as we age.

Many serious eye conditions develop silently, with no early warning signs.

So, it is essential to remember to schedule an eye examination to get your vision checked at least once per year, as early detection by a professional can help to mitigate or even prevent some serious health related issues from developing!

Regular eye exams matter more than you think!

A comprehensive eye exam isn't just about updating your glasses or contacts. It's a window into your overall health!

During an exam, your eye doctor can:

  • Diagnose refractive errors like nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism, and presbyopia
  • Detect eye diseases such as glaucoma, cataracts, diabetic retinopathy, and age-related macular degeneration, often before symptoms appear
  • Uncover systemic health issues including early signs of diabetes, high blood pressure, and autoimmune conditions

Glaucoma is one of the leading causes of blindness, yet it typically causes no pain or noticeable vision changes in its early stages.

By the time you notice something is off, damage may already be permanent. So, catching it early makes all the difference!

Beyond preventing or catching early signs of disease, keeping your vision healthy is one of the easiest ways to improves your quality of life and day to day activities!

At Punzal Vision, we offer comprehensive eye exams, a wide selection of eyewear, and personalized treatment for a full range of eye conditions.
