Interview: Tianne Castillo

Tianne in the office

You have been with Punzal Vision since March 2017 when the current location opened. How do you feel you have evolved as an employee?

Tianne: Great question. I feel like I’ve definitely worked on my communication and team work. Those two things, to me, are vital to being successful.

Punzal Vision is a tight-knit group. Outside of the office, the staff has participated in a lot of physical fitness events like swims, trail runs, and half marathons. What thoughts go through your head when you are pushing yourself to crush that last mile or jump over that last hurdle?

Tianne: “You’re almost there and you can reward yourself with alcohol and food.”

People who follow the Punzal Vision social media have gotten some glimpses of your musical talent. Are you a better singer or dancer? Can you sing a line from your favorite song and tell us about your favorite move?

Tianne: I’m for sure a better dancer. I got the moves like jagger. I don’t really have a “move” but when I hear music or a song that I like, my body just starts moving.

How do you spend your days off?

Tianne: I spend my days off at the beach with my pals Isabella and Emi. Most likely at the beach or eating somewhere.

We know that you LOVE animals, especially your DOG-ter Bella. If you had to choose one animal that best represents your personality and character traits, what would it be and why?

Tianne: That’s so funny, because I feel that Bella does represent me. We’re both needy, love food, and hate being bored.

What is your favorite food and how often do you eat it?

Tianne: My favorite food is pastele or sushi. Pastele isn’t available as much so I’m always either at Genki or Kintaros. Pasta and pizza are also good- extra pepperoni (:

If Dr. Punzal gave you a month off and $10,000, where would you go?

Tianne: I would spend two weeks in Spain, and two weeks in Japan. Spain because it’s my ethnic background, and Japan because of the food.

Do you have any nicknames?

Tianne: Some people call me sweet thang.

You are a well-rounded Punzal Vision employee, and you wear several different hats as a Paraoptometric, as the Social Media Director, and as a scribe among other roles. What is your favorite part about working at Punzal Vision?

Tianne: My favorite thing about working at Punzal Vision is that everyone became my “work family.” I have a professional and personal relationship with everyone being that we all became close friends. Also that we’re not your typical eye doctor’s office. We have fun, listen to upbeat music, are festive in everything that we do, and are very involved as a team.

If someone is being a Grumpy Gus or having a bad day, what would you say to uplift them?

Tianne: At work, I’ll send emails of positive quotes to everyone. Other than that, I’ll try to be weird and fun to get their mood up. I’m a strong believer in ‘life is too short’ so laughing and having a good time is always important to me.
