The 30th Annual Emalani Festival

Punzal Family at the Festival

Kanaloahuluhulu Meadow in Kokeʻe State Park was buzzing yesterday with history and hula as one of the island’s most popular cultural events took place. Punzal Vision was delighted and honored to be a sponsor of the 30th Annual Emalani Festival Kauaʻi – Eo e Emalani i Alakaʻi Festival; a celebration of Hawaii’s Queen Emma and her journey to the Kokeʻe uplands and Kilohana vista back in 1871.

This free event was open to everyone, with festivities kicking off around 9am. A grand entrance on horseback with ‘Queen Emma’ and her entourage certainly grabbed everyone’s attention, and the crowd was treated to performances from hula groups, KNUI & Friends with Ukelele Na Haumano O Namolokamo, and Nick Castillo & Friends. On top of a fun day of local talent, culture, and history, friends and families participated in a silent auction, bought arts and crafts from various exhibits, and feasted on delicious food from the available vendors.

We had such a lovely time yesterday and would like to thank everyone who participated – from the performers to the sound people to the exhibitors – and of course all the guests who attended. Looking forward to next year’s event already!
