Karl-Anthony La’akea Oshiro, tell us- where did you grow up and how was it being raised with such a big family?

Karl: I grew up on the east side of Kauai. Being a part of a big family means our parents had lots of babysitters.

After high school, what made you want to be in the customer service industry?

Karl: My first job at 15 was working for my Grandma at her retail shop in the Coconut Marketplace. I don’t think I’ve ever “Wanted” to work in customer service, but coming out of high school I was given the opportunity to advance my career from working at Taco Bell Kapaa to Kauai Medical Clinic’s business office. Working in the business office I had no contact with customers which over time got boring for me. Since then I’ve only been in customer service jobs, which has allowed me to meet so many different people. It’s given me opportunities that I’ve never imagined that I’d ever have.

What’s your favorite thing to do during your free time?

Karl: During my free time I love to sleep. We can thank my sister for that. I also enjoy hanging with my friends, but it depends on how exhausted I am from work.

Please put an end to the rumors once and for all, will you be entering Kaua’i Cup 2019?

Karl: Kaua’i Cup 2019???? What is that?

We’ve all noticed that working out has become a religious part of your daily routine. What’s your favorite machine to use at the gym and why?

Karl: Haha, working out was me trying to get healthy and fit. It’s very time consuming, but rewarding in the end when you feel good about yourself. As for a favorite machine, I really can’t think of one, but I feel like leg days are the easiest for me because that’s where I have been able to increase in weight the easiest.

You always seem to know someone every where you go. What’s the secret to becoming so popular?

Karl: HA.HA.HA….the secret to knowing so many people is old age. lol

If you could travel to anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?

Karl: Australia, Thailand and Japan are few of my top destinations to travel to if I could handle the plane rides. Long flights aren’t my thing and it seems to get worse as I get older.

What’s something you wish to do that you haven’t done yet?

Karl: One thing that I’ve always thought of doing, if I could build the courage to do, is go skydiving.

In life, who’s been your inspiration/role model for everything that you do?

Karl: My role model would have to be my Grandma Elsie. She has been the one that has taught me how to be the hard worker that I am today. Seeing how she has been so successful with her business’ made me want to be as successful as she has been. I’m still trying to achieve that, but I’m not as “Pake” as she is.

What are some goals you have set for yourself in and out of Punzal Vision?

Karl: I’m not one to actually write down a goal and make a list of ways on how I want to achieve it. I like to think about it and if it happens it happens. My mind will do as it pleases and you just can’t get in the way of that. Ask Tianne, she knows. lol

But all in all the only real goal I have in life is to try and become the best version of myself. It will take my lifetime to do, but I’m down for that challenge.
