Meet The Doctor
Dr. Joel E. Punzal provides quality eye care for the residents and visitors of Kaua’i. He is able to help all age groups from infant to geriatric patients. Dr. Punzal diagnoses and treats eye diseases such as glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, vitreous floaters,and red eyes. Dr. Punzal is proficient in the removal of ocular foreign bodies and the treatment of dry eye syndrome.

Dr. Punzal also provides co-management of refractive surgery (LASIK/PRK) with Aloha Laser Vision on Oahu.
Chief Financial Officer
A native of Kansas, Brity moved to Kaua’i in 2009, where she met Dr. Joel E. Punzal. It was love at first sight. They were soon married and now have two beautiful daughters. Brity is a graduate in Finance from Kansas State University. She also has a Master’s in Business Administration from Strayer University. Brity has spent the past 13 years working in the accounting and finance field, primarily in the Goverment sector. Five of those years were spent working abroad in Kuwait and Qatar. Brity is an advocate for physical activity and early childhood reading. She enjoys playing with her children, traveling, and getting caught in the rain.
Pua Cobb-Adams CPOA
Born and raised on Kaua’i, Pua Cobb-Adams graduated from Pacific University in Oregon with a degree in Biology with an emphasis in Molecular and Cellular Biology and a minor in Spanish. She is also an honors graduate of The Kamehameha Schools. Pua is certified by the American Optometric Association as a Certified Paraoptometric Assistant. Pua, who has been in the eye care field since 2006, has also been certified by the National Contact Lens Examiners association and by the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology as a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant. Pua resides in Anahola with her husband Erin and their four sons Dylan, Kalaunuiohua, Kahanohaweo, and Wainohia. She is very involved with her sons’ school and sports activities, and her ‘ohana’s interests include going to the beach, traveling, and Hawaiian language and culture.
Support Services Manager / Ophthalmic Assistant
A dedicated mother to two sons, Ryder and Bryden, Lehua is a graduate of Pacific University and the Kamehameha Schools. A Psychology major, she has also worked as a preschool teacher while living in Oregon. Lehua is passionate about physical fitness, and she also enjoys spending quality time with her boyfriend Bryson and their boys. Always friendly and eager to assist, Lehua brings enthusiasm and camaraderie to the Punzal Vision team.
Casey, who joined the Punzal Vision team in 2016, has been a patient of Dr. Punzal’s for many years. She graduated from the University of Hawai’i at Manoa with a degree in Secondary Education (Mathematics). Casey also works as a substitute teacher in the public schools here on Kaua’i.
Bradley, a Kaua’i High School graduate, is an aspiring optometrist. He is currently applying to optometry at Pacific University, where he will earn his Bachelor’s degree in May 2017. Bradley had been Dr. Punzal’s patient since grade school, and since high school, he has dedicated his summer and winter breaks to working at Punzal Vision as an intern.
